A Bit More about the Year in Question 💡 Dallas premiered as a five–part miniseries on Sunday, April 2. Its popularity led to it being picked up as a full series by CBS. The following evening, Annie Hall made bank at the Oscars beating out Star Wars. Pope John Paul I tragically died September 28, barely a month after his election, concluding one of the shortest reigns in history. He was known as the "Smiling Pope" and was the first pope to choose a double name, honoring his two immediate predecessors, John XXIII and Paul VI. His death led to a second conclave in that same year, which elected Pope John Paul II.
